"Deep in the forest of Ravenwood, nestled in the valley between North and South Haven mountains, lies Glittering Glen.
In this clearing is a giant yew tree, that the faeries who live within have named Heartwood.
They make their home among the branches of this ancient tree, flittering their lives among the leaves."

So who is this Aisling person anyhoo?

Well, my real name is Misty Auld and Aisling (or Aisy) is a nickname of mine, so I thought it would be fun to use it with my faerie sculptures. I am a wife and mother of 6 boys living in Cambridge, OH and have been an artist almost all of my life.

Prior to sculpting, I have drawn/painted animal artwork. I have equine, wildlife, and pet portraits in private collections across the country. I have also painted two maquettes (table top size resin sculptures) for The Trail of Painted Ponies. That was fun :)

I started sculpting approx. at the end of June in 2005. I dove into all of the tutorials/DVDs/books (Kathryn Dewey) on sculpting miniatures and faeries that I could find and very rapidly found myself hooked whole heartedly on sculpting.

I haven't put clay down since!

Creating these little faeries is pure joy and an amazing thing for me. Being there as they start out a lump of clay and then watching as slowly their personality and shape begin to come together has been very powerful and deeply touching for me. I hope that they bring that same joy to others as well.

I thank God everyday for the gift of art he has given me and for my wonderfully supportive husband and family without whom I would not be able to do what I do.
